THE EMBASSY OF SPAIN INFORMS Coronavirus epidemic - COVID19

  • AUSTRIA
On Saturday 14 AUSTRIA has requested this Embassy not to issue any Schengen visa on their behalf to travel to Austria. This must be applied immediately and until further notice.
  • SPAIN
There is no possibility of refund of visas already issued. Spain airports are still open but internal flights have been ordered to reduce to 50% maximum. A number of measures have been taken by the Government of Spain on 14 March.
    • SCHENGEN VISAS (short duration)
Flights may be cancelled or you may not travel on the scheduled dates or you may be subject to movement restriction measures.

If you intend to travel to Spain between March 15 and April 15 (in consequence with the measures by the Government of Oman of 12 March) it is suggested that you modify your travel dates, unless there is an urgent need to travel.

If you require a visa to travel in the coming months, once the situation has been normalized, you can continue to go to our service provider BLS to request an appointment for your visa application (and to the Embassy directly in the cases specified in our general information sheet).

If you already have a visa issued and cannot travel or decide not to travel BEFORE the validity date of your visa, you are allowed to request the change of your visa dates.

However, once the START DATE OF THE VALIDITY OF YOUR VISA HAS PASSED, we will have to issue you a new visa, free of charge, but upon presentation of a new application.
    • LONG-TERM VISAS TO SPAIN
You can continue to submit your applications normally. However, it is advisable to review the effective dates on which you are going to make your trip to Spain, because you could encounter problems due to travel restrictions that exist or that may exist soon.
